Hal is so adorable! Falling asleep with a newborn sounds like heaven.
Thanks for the book recs! I just finished Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid. I've always been a sucker for astronaut/space stories (love the science of it!) and liked it.
I just saw the footnote about the MFA program...congrats! I'm very curious to see what you decide. I would LOVE to do an MFA and recently looked at some low res options...maybe someday!
Amy, I’m so impressed that you can read or listen to any books at all with a newborn! I remember being totally exhausted all the time with a newborn. I slept when he did. (That was a long time ago! I’m 70 now.) Love the recipe and I will try it. I usually eat whole grain toast and an egg for breakfast, with maybe some yogurt and fruit. And the book I just finished is The Rose Code by Kate Quinn. Now back to reading MG again, The Burning Season by Caroline Starr Rose.
We just finished The Trouble with Heroes for our MG book Club on Inked Voices (all MG authors in the discussion). It was one of our favorite reads this year. I'm jealous that you are still reading. I wish I could go back and find it again for the first time. For adult consider I See You Called in Dead by John Kenney. He's a poet, so the writing is beautiful. It's about an obit writer who is suffering and floundering and accidently posts his own obituary and ultimately finds his way back to life with the help of a few friends and attending the funerals of strangers. This one really stuck with me.

I reeeaaaally want to do it. The student debt scares me (and we have three kids in college!) but I’m leaning towards trying to find a way…
Oh that sounds interesting! (And the newborn stage is just so dreamy) 💖
Huge congrats on getting into the Hamline program!! That's amazing!
Thank you! I’m trying to find a way to make it work…
Eek indeed! ❤️
Beloved is absolutely devastating -- I've never been able to read it without it taking a hold of my soul. An absolute masterpiece.
Congrats on getting into an MFA program! That's so exciting.
I just finished We Should All Be Birds by Brian Buckbee this morning. Next up is Ginseng Roots by Craig Thompson.

Well that sounds really amazing! Just finished the Heroes book and totally understand what you mean. It was incredible.
Enjoy the baby snuggles.🥰 I’ve been meaning to read Rebecca. I need to get to it this fall of winter. Great post!
Thank you, Jennifer! Rebecca is a book I return to again and again…
