PS My daughters and I loved Wicked! Yes, too long, and everything over the top, but we still thought it was pretty amazing!

I am all too familiar with this state of teen angst over any forced fun. Thanks for the reminder to do it anyway! Currently reading Finding Margaret Fuller and it is just the escape I need.

"Good or bad, this is what I tell myself: Everything is either a good time - or a good story" – I need to remember this when my kids are complaining and fighting and it all feels a bit stressful. It's true that sometimes these are the times we remember and laugh about later <3

Thank you so much for sharing my Substack in your lovely post. "The complaining and sighing in the backseat is a ruse ... ". This made me smile. Some of my favorite memories are of them sighing and complaining in the backseat.
