Oh, you know I love this and relate to every word (well, except the part about family reunions and gathering with siblings... as I have none! ;p ) I am so glad you are starting on another writing project. Can't wait to read it. And of course, I will pick up Ann Patchett's book.

Reminds me of Anne of Green Gables when her teacher says, "Tomorrow is always fresh. With no mistakes in it. :)

Beautiful piece! I resonate...I have a few moments I really wish I could do-over. But I'm proud of who my kids have helped me become. I agree, I wouldn't time travel back. But I have gone back to change the energy of this or that. I've felt the healing flow into the now, at least within me, and when I've done it with my spouse, he has felt it too. "This summer we had a very special-loud-and-crazy-fun summer where all my children were home. Alas, one by one, they will depart" Yep...I have two at home and one gone. When she came home briefly this summer, we all had a wonderful time. I miss having them all under one roof, but I also celebrate their journeys and there is something extra special about when my oldest comes home...the reunion has its own unique celebratory nature that is a bit different than daily life. That said, we're not built to live far from generations, I think...so many cultures have multiple generations all living in community, you know? Biggest blessings!

Biggest blessings, yes! Thank you for this...I love how you wrote about going back to change "the energy" of this or that. Fresh starts, new energy!

Big smiles! The energy shift things really works in a miraculous way. It healed my marriage. I am a big believer in quantum medicine and divine love! And now that my kids are big its really fun to talk with parents of younger kids and to bond with younger kids, as well as having amazing conversations (and humor) with my own children. My son just named a dolphin I painted. I asked to to so, and he said, "Friendly." Then I said, "That's funny because the name that came to me "from" him was Fred." My son's eyes got big and he laughed outloud and said, "Oh wow, REALLY...the first thing I thought of for him was FREDDIE!" Dolphins are known for being telepathic. I think they were helping out there...teaching us...<3
