Yay! Glad to hear :) Loved her previous book, Long Bright River (which I just finished on audio).

Adding the two I haven’t read to my list!

Recent reads: Echo by Pam Muñoz Ryan (different but loved it - suggest audio book because it contains music)

The Measure by Nikki Erlick (interesting premise, took me a while to get into it then needed tissues by the end)

If Something Happens to Me by Alex Finlay (good mystery)

Bye, Baby by Carola Lovering (sucked me in from the start)

Currently reading: The Thief by Megan Whalen and Quiet by Susan Cain.

Happy reading!

Ooooh I know I will like your recommendations (I've read Quiet and it changed my whole life. I have Cain's newish one, Bittersweet, on my bookshelf that I've been meaning to read for years - and I've heard great things about Echo). Thank you for these!

Gary Schmidt is pure gold. And that book about Martha Ballard looks fascinating! Thanks for the recommendations :)

You're so welcome. This was my first Gary Schmidt book if you can believe it - I'll be reading more!

Ooooh you are in for such a treat!! I suggest Wednesday Wars next, followed by Okay For Now. Those two books are the epitome of what contemporary (historical?) middle grade can be.
